Weekly Update for October 14th

News of the Week - October 14th-18th

Good evening Champion families. This is Mr. Bridges with a look at the week ahead!

First, Mrs. Merlette and I would like to thank all of the families who attended Honour Society’s Fall Festival on Friday.  Thank you to Honour Society members and all the parents/staff/volunteers who contributed to this event. This event would not have been a success without the dedication and hardwork of those within our growing OPA community.

Additionally, our Champions have raised over $5,000 for our upcoming OPA-SV Honour Society’s Rainbow Run!  The $5,000 Schoolwide Prize is a “Professor Silly Dress Day” and a “Schoolwide Free Dress Day” this Friday! Thank you parents/guardians for supporting this exciting event!

Academic Chess will be returning to the OPA Saddleback campus starting this Friday. Please see the flyer for pricing and registration information. Academic Chess Flyer

Morning Drop-off and Pick-up Reminder: In an effort to be respectful neighbors to our community, and maintain student safety, we must be steadfast in our drop-off and pick-up routines. Let this serve as a gentle reminder to staff and parents, please do not make left-hand turns into the parking lot or drop-off lanes if you arrive to school from 8:15am-8:30am or during the afternoon for pick-up. Also, please do not park in any red zones or block our neighbors driveways, and follow the directions of school personnel during drop-off and pick-up. We appreciate your cooperation.

Drop-off time is 8:10am or LATER. If you need to drop your Champions off prior to 8:10am, the YMCA is available to watch your children. There is no supervision prior to 8:10 am and children should not be without a parent on campus at that time. All students must be picked up before 3:30 M-TH and before 12:45 on Fridays, unless they have an after school activity.

**Students arriving at school after 8:40am must be accompanied by a parent and signed in at the front office to receive a tardy slip prior to going to class. Students arriving between 8:30am and 8:40am will still be marked tardy, but may report directly to class.
